The form insists on PDF — turning images into documents
2026-09-05
You photographed a receipt, scanned a signature page, exported a diagram — and the upload field rejects it: PDF files only. The content is fine; the container is wrong.
What the conversion actually produces
Our JPG to PDF converter wraps each image in a one-page PDF. The page is sized to the image itself — no forced A4, no invented margins, no cropping. What you see in the image is exactly what the PDF page shows.
Inside the PDF the picture is stored JPEG-style, which means the quality slider applies here too: "Recommended" is right for receipts and documents, "High quality" if the file will be zoomed and inspected. It all runs in your browser — the image is never uploaded, which matters when the image is the sensitive document.
Several images: one PDF each, or one page?
Drop in five images and you get five one-page PDFs, named after the originals. If what you actually need is one document, join the images first with Stitch images — top to bottom, in the order you choose — and convert the single result. One long page beats five attachments in most upload forms.
Two things worth knowing before you convert
- Transparency goes white. PDF pages here have no transparency, so a PNG logo's see-through background becomes a white page behind it. For a document scan that is what you want anyway.
- A PDF is not extra security. The conversion changes the container, not the content — anyone who can open the PDF sees the image. If the document needs protecting, that protection has to come from wherever you send it.
What we deliberately don't do
We don't run OCR or produce "searchable" PDFs. The output is your picture on a page — honest about being a picture. Text recognition is a different tool with different failure modes, and pretending an image PDF is searchable helps nobody.
The short version
- Each image becomes a one-page PDF sized to the image — nothing padded or cropped.
- The quality slider applies; the work happens in your browser, unuploaded.
- Need one multi-image document? Stitch first, then convert the result.
- Transparency is filled white, and a PDF wrapper adds no security by itself.
No sign-up, nothing uploaded — it runs in this tab.
